Large smoky quartz with UV hyalite opal

This amazing unique specimen comes from a private claim in the Black Rock desert of Nevada. Weighing in at 391 grams (nearly a pound!), and measuring about 4 1/2" x 2 1/2" x 2", this specimen has 2 good sized spots of what the miner told me is hyalite opal. The picture taken is under long wave 365nm which is all I have, and only one of the spots shows UV reactivity, but the miner said it shows much better under shortwave and both spots should show up well.
The pictures don't do it justice, it has some very interesting quartz habits and growth patterns. Truly a unique piece good for any display! Especially a UV cabinet, but it's beautiful even without seeing the UV light up.
